Jefferson Provost is a software development engineer in transaction risk management at Amazon.com. In the past he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Neuroscience Department at the University of Pittsburgh, a doctoral candidate in the  AI Lab at The University of Texas at Austin, a software engineer at Psychology Software Tools, Inc., and a research programmer at the Carnegie Mellon Department of Psychology.  He got his Ph.D. in Computer Sciences in August 2007,s specializing in machine learning for robots.  He currently lives in Seattle, WA, with his wife and daughter.
